Whether you transfer from a two-year institution with your associates, from a four-year institution with some credits, or somewhere in between, Hiram College has a place for you. Centrally located in Northeast Ohio with just a 45-minute drive to Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown, we take pride in striving to be one of the best colleges in the area for transfer students.
Hiram is dedicated to giving transfer students as much credit as possible towards their degree program. As a transfer student, we only require a minimum of 45 semester credits to be earned through Hiram to graduate. This means you can get on your way faster, without losing your previously earned credits! Don’t know what credits transfer? We offer unofficial credit evaluations before you even decide to transfer.
Transfer students choose Hiram for:
-
Value. All full-time, on-campus transfer students are eligible to receive a merit-based scholarship ranging from $4,000-$10,000 annually.
-
Personalized attention. With just a 10:1 student to faculty ratio, students receive personalized attention from faculty in small classroom settings.
-
Flexibility. Transfer students can enroll at multiple entry points over the course of the academic year.
-
Unique semester structure. The Hiram Plan gives students the opportunity to translate classroom knowledge to real-world experiences. The first 12 weeks consist of a full course load, and the final three weeks focus on a single, intensive course in the classroom, in the field, or abroad.
-
Experiential learning. Through experiential learning opportunities, all students complete an internship, guided research, or study away. It’s the perfect way to show potential employers what you can do and how prepared you are for your future career.
-
Direct admission. If you have an associate degree and a 2.4 GPA or higher, you’ll be considered for direct admission at Hiram.
-
Year after year, Hiram has been named to Phi Theta Kappa’s Transfer Honor Roll in recognition of the dynamic pathways created to support transfer students. Phi Theta Kappa is known as a premier honor society and recognizes the importance of creating strong transfer pathways that lead to excellence and success.
