Founded in 1920, the University of New Haven is a private, co-educational institution that offers a wide range of majors in a small, intimate college environment. Within its five colleges, students immerse themselves in a transformative, career-focused education across the liberal arts and sciences, fine arts, business, engineering, public safety, and public service. The University of New Haven is located in suburban West Haven, Connecticut, conveniently situated 75 miles from New York City and 135 miles from Boston. Only minutes away from the beautiful beaches along Long Island Sound, the University offers a shuttle to downtown New Haven and other local areas.
The University of New Haven has over 240 full-time professors, 90 percent of whom hold a PhD or other terminal degree. Student-to-faculty ratio is 16:1; average class size is 23.
University of New Haven students have access to more than 400 study-abroad programs worldwide and its student-athletes compete in 17 varsity sports in the NCAA Division II’s highly competitive Northeast-10 Conference.

Prospective transfer applicants can meet with a transfer evaluation counselor during a personal visit or one of the University’s Transfer Discovery Days. You may even qualify for up to $20,000 in merit-based academic scholarships specifically for transfer students.
